The ultimate resource for learning about medaka classification and traits. Only in Japanese, but still plenty of charts and examples in their manuals.

Japanese publisher providing informational books on medaka. Known for their “Varieties of Japanese Rice-Fish” series of books as well as “Japanese Medaka Base-Book”. Website provides great information on new strains being developed in the hobby.

Japanese producer of products for medaka. They have an informational website with a great chart outlining the lineage of different strains. Also has information on how to care for the fish.
